I had attended one of their public education events. They are lovely people, compassionate, professional and very friendly. My first visit included hearing tests and comprehensive cognitive testing. This will be offered annually. I was fitted with hearing aids and given a trial period before returning for further information, etc. My main reason for getting hearing aids was that I had very annoying tinnitus and balance issues. Both issues have been helped a lot, and I’m happy. Also, to my delight, a bonus is that I can hear myself better when singing in my choirs, allowing me to make a more confident contribution! Your first appointment is all about getting to know one another. Together, we discuss your concerns, your needs and your goals. We take the time to understand what matters most to you so we can provide personalized care that supports your hearing health.

During your first appointment, we may conduct a cognitive screening followed by a comprehensive hearing evaluation. We will review the results with you, answer your questions, and discuss the best way to move forward based on your hearing or tinnitus needs and goals.

When treatment is recommended, we will develop a personalized plan that may include prescriptive devices, tinnitus management strategies, or other appropriate hearing care. Follow-up appointments allow us to monitor your progress, discuss your listening experiences and, when applicable, evaluate the use and benefit of your prescriptive devices. Adjustments and ongoing support are provided as your needs change.

Preparing for your visit is easy. If you have previous hearing test results, please bring them with you. Comparing previous and current results can help us identify changes in your hearing over time. If you don’t have previous results, that’s perfectly fine.

We encourage you to bring a family member or friend if you wish. A great deal of information can be discussed during your appointments, and having someone with you can be helpful for support, asking questions and discussing your next steps.
